We love wilderness!

We love nature’s powers at full play. We love observing what nature does when we don’t interfere directly. What grows first and second and how the forests look like many, many years after.

At Monte do Vale Longo we are privileged to have dozens of hectars of pretty wild cork forests. Medronho, rockroses, blackberries, broom, thistles and many, many other shrubs, bushes, climbers and plans are growing there as well, providing habitat and food for uncountable instects, birds, reptiles and mammels.

Wilderness is an essential part of the mission and vision of AlmaOhana and we commit to supporting the Rights of Nature.

NOW - What we are doing

FUTURE - What we’d love to do

• We would love to bring back safety, habitat and food for endangered species and others.
• We would love to have verious researchers come to do research here with us and advise us! Part of the dream is an artist and researcher residency working amongst others with wildlife conservation and protection.
