• LIVING WHERE IT MAKES SENSE

  • We have studied and observed the land for the past years to understand about the natural forces like wind, water, sun, fog, temperature differneces and how sound travels. Our homes, work units and communal buildings will be integrated into the landscape where it feels natural (and according to the legal prerequisits of the camara. This changes our own ideas quite a bit but bureaucracy is strong and there is no way around).

• NON INVASIVE

  • Instead of humans taking over nature we are looking to live with nature in nature as part of nature. Our homes and other buildings will refelct this value.

• NATURAL BUILDING

  • Our housing will be made of natural materials including clay, wood, rocks, straw, sand and glass. We will use recyled materials as much as possible and look to do the least harm possible in terms of material sourcing and the land.

• LEAVE NO TRACE or LEAVE A GOOD TRACE

  • We build in a way that everything can also be removed again in case that is wanted or needed. Our activities and input are meant to support and benefit the land and it’s living beings, not harm them. Our presence comes with an intentional of harmonious coexistance and mutualism.

• OFF GRID LIVING

  • We receive our water from rain water harvesting and our shallow well. Power comes from solar panels and batteries.

NOW - What we are doing

• Currently we are reviewing our masterplan to obtain the building permits. We submitted our “PIP”, Pedido de Informação Prévia, in April 2023 and received feedback in February 2024. Now we are organizing an environmental impact study and our agriculturer license so that then we can include the adjustments we were asked for in order to comply with the local legislation.

FUTURE - What we’d love to do

• Our initial dream has since formalized into a technical plan which includes decentralized living for 20-30 core members holding and nourishing the project. Our houses will be humble, natural and tiny - 32m2 per adult. We aspire to collect water with fog catchers at every house and use grey water for watering our gardens. The plan also includes a food lab to process and preserve the produce from our organic food producation, therapy spaces, a big movement/course space, a workshop to build the things, a coworking space and natural rooms and bungalows for guests to stay. All buildings shall be built according to our values, mission and standards.
